Title: Quiet Watch
Location: Point Reyes National Seashore, California – 2023
Description: It was my first day in Point Reyes, which is known as the “Serengeti” of California, and I was hoping to see a bobcat. I was born and raised in Southern California and have NEVER seen a bobcat. They are hard to spot since they aren’t too big and look like rocks when lying down. By chance our guide spotted this one walking on one of our last afternoons. We quickly parked and slowly zigzagged to get closer to the bobcat, that was now lying down and relaxing under the trees. The bobcat allowed us to sit near by him and would look over at us from time to time. We sat with him for about 20 minutes before he decided he needed to be alone again and slinked off into the bushes.
