Title: Close Encounter – Original
My Close Encounter:
I met this bull elephant back when I was conducting my Master’s research in KZN, South Africa. I accompanied the elephant ecologist and we were cruising around the bush when we saw this big guy. We stopped to admire his giant size. Then he started to come over – THIS close! I had my long lens on at the time and was sitting in the back of the car – I had to lean all the way back to focus on him! I was challenged to paint this on my second big canvas – I accepted.
Spiritually speaking, the elephant symbolizes intelligence, wisdom, majesty, good luck, loyalty, and strength. An elephant appearing in your life, whether in real life, the media, or in art, could be a sign to your intellect to solve a problem or overcome an obstacle that may be in front of you. While you may feel incredibly emotional about a given situation, you have a rational mind that is capable of making logical decisions. Try to look at a situation and detach from the emotional aspects of it. Emotions are powerful forces, but at times, they can cloud our judgement. The elephant reminds you to use your wits – you have a powerful intellect that you can use to find the answers you seek.

*What is "Gallery Wrapped"? - AKA: canvas over bars, canvas stretched over bars, stretched canvas, mounted canvas - basically a normal canvas that is stretched over a wooden frame that you would find at an art store! This does not need to be framed.
