Location: Botswana – 2020
Description: While researching predators in Botswana, I drove about three hours to this ‘far-away’ pack on the other side of the river. I nearly gave up but then I caught their signal using radio telemetry, as one of the adults had a VHF collar. Using the antenna to pinpoint their location, I finally found them after an additional 40min. This was the face that greeted me and instantly my frustration washed away.
Happy Dog is now published in Remembering Wildlife’s latest book, “Remembering African Wild Dogs”.
