Description: It was my first day in Point Reyes, which is known as the “Serengeti” of California, and I was excited to see and photograph Californian wildlife. We came across this male Californian Quail, our state bird, resting on a wooden post. I see and hear them all the time when I hike near my house, but none of them were as relaxed as this one! I love their head doodads and when they fluff up like this!
