Title: Nsuku – Limited Edition Reproduction Prints
My Encounter with Nsuku:
I met Nsuku during my Master’s research with Wildlife ACT back in 2018. They were on a recent kill when we found them, all 25 pack members. As the chaos was slowing down, Nskuku walked away from the activity and looked to the bushes, with her fur blood stained.
The African wild dog is also known as the painted dog, African hunting dog, Cape hunting dog, spotted wolf, or spotted dog. Its symbolism is of family, community, and a positive attitude. African painted dogs teach us success through perseverance, to be a good judge of character, and to be free with our affection but guarded with more intense love. To those that painted dogs resonate with, tend to be friendly, social, compassionate, and determined. They are slow to offer trust but exceedingly protective and loyal to those they hold close.
