Location: Mana Pools, Zimbabwe - 2023
Description: It was a hot afternoon in Mana Pools when we found this bull elephant. Fortunately, our guide knew this individual very well and said we could get out of the vehicle and photograph him on foot. As we approached, I noticed the curvature of his leg (due to an old injury) that bent parallel with the curve of the tree trunk. I knelt with my wide-angle camera on the ground to get this perspective. I was literally standing amongst a giant - what a truly humbling and emotional feeling.
