Title: The Rally - Original

My African Painted Dog Encounter in Botswana:

While I was working for an NGO in Botswana, I focused on the behavior and demographics of several African painted dog packs in the Okavango Delta. This particular behavior I captured here is called rallying, which is a behavior painted dogs do before they get ready for a hunt. They basically run around, chase each other, and look like they are having a great time!

The African wild dog is also known as the painted dog, African hunting dog, Cape hunting dog, spotted wolf, or spotted dog. Its symbolism is of family, community, and a positive attitude. African painted dogs teach us success through perseverance, to be a good judge of character, and to be free with our affection but guarded with more intense love. To those that painted dogs resonate with, tend to be friendly, social, compassionate, and determined. They are slow to offer trust but exceedingly protective and loyal to those they hold close.
